Focusing on Sensory Solutions for School Situations--and Beyond

Creating an environment for sensory solutions in schools across America is the goal of this website and the mission it represents. A sensory integration room is a critical need for the proper social development and academic success for many children.  It is most commonly recognized as a need in autistic children.  The typical classroom environment does not address this need; and, as a result, classrooms and children are suffering--including those without the need for such intervention. 

Students who have a need for sensory input and stimulation can become problematic with behaviors that are inappropriate.  Many times what is labeled as "acting up" or "acting out" can be diverted with the proper sensory input.  Students can learn to cope with their own feelings and learn to control their emotions, impulses, and urges when they learn to identify their need and have a way to appropriately express and address them with the proper coping mechanisms.

Cindy Price of Greenwood, Indiana, (in cooperation with the Center Grove Education Foundation, a 501(C) 3 organization) has taken on the challenge to inform the public and help schools all across the nation--starting with her own school system--provide for the needs of all children--especially those who will benefit dramatically from sensory integration. To read more about Cindy Price click here.
